It is official
I have no pictures to go along with this post but i had to tell you as soon as I found out.
I GOT A JOB!
I will be an OB nurse at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, right here on Michigan Ave! I am so glad I held out for the right job to come along. And by "held out" I mean, didn't get any of the other jobs I applied for. None-the-less, this is the first job that feels right. The interviews went really well, and the nurse manager was so nice. My interview with her felt like I was having coffee with a friend instead of a job interview. It was almost like she was trying to sell me on Northwestern, I was like, "alright already, I'll work for your amazing company, twist my arm!"
Before the interview, I had my doubts. I am just having so much fun, I thought that having a full time job would prevent me from doing all the fun stuff that i have been. Well, the night before my interview, I was kind of freaking out. I was going to go right home after work, but instead, my friend, Tim, totally calmed me down. He is an actor at the second city and has a full time job. Of course one day in the future I would like to be hired by the second city, but I know that is far down the line. Right now, i just want to continue taking classes and performing in student shows, let alone be a paid actor. He just helped me see that I can do it all, which is of course what I want.
I think I can do it. I will rarely work weekends because they have a permanent weekend staff and there is no on-call time required. So, I will only work three twelve hour shifts at night. I am fine with night shifts becuase my life is already pretty much on a night shift schedule, so its all good.
Hello, my name is Britt Sanborn, I am gainfully employed and I have health insurance. I think I just became and adult. . . I hope not.
