It is official

I have no pictures to go along with this post but i had to tell you as soon as I found out.
I GOT A JOB!
I will be an OB nurse at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, right here on Michigan Ave! I am so glad I held out for the right job to come along. And by "held out" I mean, didn't get any of the other jobs I applied for. None-the-less, this is the first job that feels right. The interviews went really well, and the nurse manager was so nice. My interview with her felt like I was having coffee with a friend instead of a job interview. It was almost like she was trying to sell me on Northwestern, I was like, "alright already, I'll work for your amazing company, twist my arm!"
Before the interview, I had my doubts. I am just having so much fun, I thought that having a full time job would prevent me from doing all the fun stuff that i have been. Well, the night before my interview, I was kind of freaking out. I was going to go right home after work, but instead, my friend, Tim, totally calmed me down. He is an actor at the second city and has a full time job. Of course one day in the future I would like to be hired by the second city, but I know that is far down the line. Right now, i just want to continue taking classes and performing in student shows, let alone be a paid actor. He just helped me see that I can do it all, which is of course what I want.
I think I can do it. I will rarely work weekends because they have a permanent weekend staff and there is no on-call time required. So, I will only work three twelve hour shifts at night. I am fine with night shifts becuase my life is already pretty much on a night shift schedule, so its all good.
Hello, my name is Britt Sanborn, I am gainfully employed and I have health insurance. I think I just became and adult. . . I hope not.

Oh, Mobile. You make me laugh.

Now, As you probably know, I am a huge fan of food. But there are two things in this world I will not, cannot eat. Olives and Oysters. maybe its a texture thing, but they honestly make me gag. However, that being said, I considered that maybe I haven't given oysters a fair shot. After all, they a delicacy and such a big deal in Mobile, right? Well, at the tournament this weekend there was an oyster bar. Yeah, they pulled out all the stops. so, since they were there, and essentially free, Brandon and I dared each other to eat one raw, straight out of the shell. Seriously, people eat these things. It tasted like slime going down my throat! Brandon's sentiments were similar. Honestly though, who was the first person to find a closed oyster shell in the sea and say i'm going to break open that rock and eat whatever is inside it. I tell ya, if you ever want to weaken me, serve me olives and oysters. They are my kryponite. Since I'm on topic of this weekend, I made another observation while in Mobile. Mind you, I missed my flight out of Chicago because the security line was so long I did not get to check in on time. Well, please pay close attention to the picture on the right. That is the Mobile Airport (slash post-office). There was no one in line to check in and I got there less than an hour before my flight was to depart. Actually, there was no one there to check me in either because they were busy loading the plane with luggage. They like to multitask, apparently. It always makes me laugh when the attendant says "let me look up what gate you'll be leaving from." Its just funny because there are only seven gates and they are all next to each other. Seeing as though only 5 or 6 flights come and go from Mobile everyday, my guess is my gate will be the one with the plane next to it. By the way, i was never asked for ID when I checked in. That always makes you feel safe. Being able to touch both sides of the plane when you stand in the middle is also re-assuring. Or the fact that the pilots name was Brandon and the flight attendants name was Maggie. What? Was this an after school program? No one over the age of 17 is named Brandon or Maggie. Well, since you are reading this, you most likely guessed that we did infact land safely.
Oh, boy, isn't that funny.
